soul like a spider

Newlywed and writer from the great Detroit area. A few of my favorite things are carnations, hair dye, natural peanut butter, Chuck Klosterman, and bluegrass. I particularly love cuddling with my husband and watching good movies. I want to understand. That is all. My prose is here.

Sometimes…

(Got this idea from the lovely Caitlin at To Make Love Stay.)

It’s hard for me to not be pedantic when arguing over technicalities in conversation.

I’m reminded of how much I love my husband in the few minutes I get to see him each night when eating dinner before he goes off to study (and we get into conversations about how “Inception” was snubbed at The Oscars).

I feel self-conscious when I speak up in class or wear high heels.

I am mildly dishonest when I say I don’t really like the idea of getting into modeling. Tall girl problems.

I can’t imagine a world without word processors.

I’m surprised that I still like my mini-tortilla pizzas even though I’ve eaten them almost every other night for the past two weeks.

I get a little too easily wrapped up in GIF collecting.

I indulge in guilty pleasures like eating plain tortillas and 30 Rock reruns.

I wish all things in life were as wonderful as a good glass of wine.
